I am selling my Takahashi FS102 (2nd owner). SN 02036
If you are reading this ad, you that this a very special apochromatic telescope.
Legendary optics with superb contrast.

Stats: 102mm diameter
Optics: fluorite doublet (fluorite at front)
F/ratio = 8.1
Focal length = 820mm
OTA weight = 5.3 kg
Fully collimatable
2.7” rack + pinion focuser with metal knobs

Includes OTA with Tak “manhole” objective cover
Takahashi hinged clamshell OTA holder
Takahashi 1.25” eyepiece holder
Will accept 2”
Takahashi 7x50 finderscope (both end-caps) with finder bracket
Thousand Oaks type2+ glass solar filter
Note: Takahashi 1.25” prism star diagonal is SOLD and is not included.

Optics are excellent
Cosmetics are excellent - few touch ups on clamshell and finder scope

Compared to the newest Takahashi 100mm Telescope:
Larger tube = better baffling
Larger objective 102mm vs 100mm
Larger focuser 2.7” vs 2”
Priced at ~ 45 % of a similarly available OTA including options (clamshell, diagonal, finderscope/bracket, etc).


Final reduction to $2500
Pickup preferred but will meet up for a face to face transaction in Ottawa/Cornwall/Montreal area. For those in southern Ontario will drive as far as Kingston for gas money.

I do not have the original Takahashi shipping boxes.
Can double box and ship.
