Antares Sentinel 80mm F6 "ultra-portable" semi-apo refractor. SOLD, Thanks Gareth.
Now surplus to requirements and too good to leave on the shelf.
A superb scope for the price and very good build quality. Either as a 'grab-n-go', guide-scope or for photography. A few scuffs from normal wear but optics in excellent condition. Retailed at £260 ish). Looking for offers around £120 plus P&P.

- Focal Length: 480mm f6.
- 80mm doublet.
- Retractable dew-shield
- 2" 360° rotating (single speed) Crayford focuser with brass compression ring
- and 1.25" converter.
- High quality, glossy black anodizing tube
- Metal end-cap.
- 15 internal baffles to eliminate light scatter
- Adaptable to 'any' camera tripod
- Comes with carrying case

Note, the foam in the carry case is worn but completely serviceable and I've replaced a compression ring nut (see photo, the result of numb fingers on a cold night..).

And this is why, for the benefit of the Troll "Moi" at [email protected] (who doesn't feel comfortable enough to disclose his real identity when emailing people), is the reason I've described it as "Semi-Apo"...

http://www.scopesnskies.com/prod/sentinel/antares/semi-apo-refractor.html

Scopes and skies described it as a semi-apo, even if technically the manufacturer can't.

And this book explains the reason people refer to these as 'semi-apo'...

https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=rv2QAwAAQBAJ&pg=PA40&lpg=PA40&dq=antares+sentinel+semi+apo&source=bl&ots=vAv6b6ZEPo&sig=rSVU-73Tj750bd6gFnp20n0ALnY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=YmCVVPz9Ksvzao--grAJ&ved=0CF0Q6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q=antares%20sentinel%20semi%20apo&f=false

So, better than Acro performance but not Apo construction. Which seems to be widely held view.

Also, the same model was sold on Buy-and-Sell two weeks ago by another user.
